Holiday message from Jeff Gilbreath, Executive Director of HCL
For some of you receiving this newsletter, you may be celebrating your very first holiday season in your own home! If so, congratulations! Our wish here at Hawai‘i Community Lending is that everyone can experience the joy you are feeling, knowing that you and your ‘ohana have a stable home and a place to gather and celebrate one another. Let our team at HCL help you fulfill your wishes in 2022! Aloha, Jeff
It was an exciting year for everyone at HCA and HCL, especially Jeff. For most of 2021, Jeff served as interim Executive Director of HCA while Executive Director for HCL. Earlier this year Hawai‘i Community Foundation recognized Jeff as one of five Ho‘okele Award recipients. Named for the Ho‘okele, or steersman, the Ho‘okele Award is presented annually to leaders from the nonprofit sector who strive to make Hawai‘i a better place by improving the quality of life for Hawai‘i’s people.
Did you know? Under Jeff’s leadership, HCL has deployed more than $26.5 million in grant and loan capital to support affordable housing for more than 3,000 Native Hawaiian and local families.

Make a resolution this New Year to invest time in our programs, and reap the rewards in your life and home! May all the promise of the bright New Year be yours! Aloha, Chelsie
