Kahua Waiwai: Building a Foundation of Wealth© Curriculum.

In 2003, HCA co-founders, Blossom Feiteira and Kehaulani Filimoe’atu, were honored with a Leadership for a Changing World Award from Ford Foundation for developing a culturally-appropriate, place-based homebuyer education curriculum and program to assist Native Hawaiians purchase homes, entitled Kahua Waiwai: Building a Foundation of Wealth©.

HCA has since used its community-based curriculum development model to engage youth, families, teachers, local business owners, and community members in the creation of place-based Kahua Waiwai editions now available for youth, families, and potential renters.
